As mentioned earlier I said I would give you a few points on why you need to consume Leucine when training.
- It is an essential amino acid, our bodies can't produce it, we can only get it from the food we eat and supplements.
- Leucine stimulates protein synthesis to build muscle.
- BCAAs (Branch Chain Amino Acids) make up a high proportion of the amino acids in the muscle. The muscle use this as fuel when training. (Depending on training your doing, as you can use glycogen as a fuel as well.)
- After training studies show that the level of BCAAs in our body decrease after training, which is why it is key to continuously top up our levels.
- One why is drinking one of the drinks I'm drinking. With a ratio of 10 Leucine to 1:1, I'm ensuring that before, during and after, protein synthesis is at an optimal level to fuel, build muscle and repair it after training.
- In order for recovery and optimal gains, it is essential to the fuel body with the right sources of food and supplements. It is like building a house, lying down a strong foundation, in which to build from, time after time.
